Replacement Projector Bulbs

When you buy a projector, you buy it to watch those special moments that you and your family have shared through the years. You will want to watch them every so often. Around 5 to 6 million projectors are bought each and every year. That is a lot more than you would probably think.

The people who buy these projectors know that they will have to replace the projector bulbs at some point. Of course people will find out the approximate life of a projector bulb before they purchase a projector, just to see what the cost will run. The cost of most projector bulbs is pretty steep, and could run you up to 300 pounds for some of the projectors that are out there. That's a lot of money for a replacement bulb, but the manufacturers of these projectors have made it hard for the price to be lower.

First off there are no third party manufacturers for projector bulbs. This means that you can't buy them for a cheaper price, like they do with such things as shampoos and even DVD players. You don't have to deal with the high price because you will be able to get a cheaper product someplace else. But this isn't how it is with replacement projector bulbs.

Plus there aren't very many of these replacement projector bulbs made either. The reason is that the life of most of those projector bulbs is close to 2,000 hours. That's a lot of time when you sit down and think about it. Most people won't use those 2,000 for two to even three years. So if you split the cost of a replacement projector bulb through those years, it really isn't bad after all.

So you can also see that you should follow the recommendations to operating and setting up your projector. Keep it away from walls so it will be able to cool off easier, and always check and clean filters on your projector. And almost all of the projectors out there have a setting that is called low mode; set your projector on this setting. This may actually have your projector bulb lasting up to 20% longer than a normal projector bulb running at normal mode would last.

You may find that some manufacturers will say that their projector bulbs will last up to 5,000 hours. It's up to you if you want to purchase these projectors with this claim. Remember that with a bit of setting up correctly and cleaning well you will be able to extend the life of a projector bulb on any camera.

So don't fret about being able to afford that replacement projector bulb, because with as long as they last you should be able to save up enough money for the new ones. Plus some manufacturers will even give you the first replacement projector bulb free, so this means a total of about 4 to 6 years before you will need to purchase your first projector bulb.
