Projector Bulbs |
Projector bulbs will need to be replaced around every two to three years. They are not cheap to buy; in fact they may actually run up to 300 pounds, which isn't always easy to come by. When you are thinking of getting a projector, do some research and make sure that you are getting one of the best projectors out there. A lot of reviews will give you the average life of the projector bulb for that specific projector.
Sometimes you will find that it's not always easier to find out the specific life though, because really all you can get when these projectors are tested is an average life of a projector bulb. With this being said, it seems that the average of most projector bulbs is 2,000 hours of usage. That's a lot of time when you think about it, because there is no way that the average family will even come close to watching that many hours of movies on their projector within a year, and sometimes even two.
So with that being said, it's easy to see that when you have to replace a projector bulb you're not going to have to worry about it for a while. This means that you will be able to save up for the purchase, or even when you are trying to find a projector see if you can get one that has the first replacement projector bulb for free. This will give you hopefully up to six years to save for the purchase of a projector bulb.
By that time you might just want to look at how much a new projector will run you. With as quick as technology is advancing it is easy to see that in six years a new projector might actually cost you the same as a replacement projector bulb.
It's easy to see why some people will find that it would be so much easier to buy a new projector than the projector bulb. But you must do which ever you feel is the best for you and your family.
If you want to know how to make your projector bulb last longer there are a few things you can try. First would be to place the projector so that it's not too close to a solid wall or something else. If it's too close to an object that will block the air flow it will have to work harder, and the bulb may not last as long. Secondly you need to make sure you clean your projector, the filters and everything else. Try to do this every 100 hours. Most people will forget and not do it until much later. Finally, one of the most important and easiest ways to increase the life of the projector bulb is to run the projector on eco-mode. Yes, it's what it sounds like. It's a lower mode that the projector can run on, which increases the time the projector bulb will last.
