Projector Installation - leave it to experts

Projector installation is an expert's job. Meticulous planning is needed before hand so that problems during the course of execution can be avoided. There are different variants of projectors available in the market, each catering to different profile of customers. Before going ahead with projector installation, attention is required to be paid to every aspect of projector positioning, layout of the room, lighting acoustics, ambient lighting, noise levels etc. Perfect synchronization is needed before the desired results are obtained. There are few aspects of installation which should always be borne in mind.

  • Positioning: The moment you decide to place your projector, the very first thing which comes to your mind is the layout & sitting arrangement. If the hall is square then screen has to be wide. For a square shaped hall smaller screens with lesser aspect ratio can also work. Projector should be positioned in such a way that proper visibility is there.  Front mounting normally blocks the vision but since it is not fixed to the location, it can be carried away to other projection stations also. A rear projection is preferred where back space is required to be utilized. Rear ceiling and front ceiling arrangement are generally adopted where permanent setup is there. In such a setup the mounting are so positioned that it can be used on regular basis without the need for any dismantling.
  • Ventilation: Projector installation has to factor in proper ventilation. When projectors are mounted on the ceiling mount, enough space is required to be left on all four sides so that natural air circulation is there. Ventilation space should be left around the projectors so that fans housed inside the projectors can through the heat out and keep the working temperature of projector under control.
  • Ease of maintenance: Projectors when they are mounted on ceiling should be easily approachable. All the branded projectors are generally trouble free but their continued use over a considerable period of time may result in problems. While installing them ceiling, the fixtures employed should be checked for any play and weak links. They should not be placed at locations which may be inaccessible.
  • Screen size and orientation: Generally projectors are installed in such a way so that projection is even and no offsets are there. To take care of the offsets the throw ratio and distance, elevation of projectors are adjusted.
  • Acoustics: This is factor which is seldom considered worthy of discussion in projector installation issues. However, the layout, orientation of pillars and structures in hall does contribute to acoustics. The projector installation should planned and carried out in such away so as to optimize the on the acoustics.

A good projector installation remains there for considerable periods and its importance in making a session or a presentation lively cannot be underestimated.
