Projector Bulbs and Replacements |
NEC makes a nice line of projector bulbs, lamps, and replacement bulbs. If you are looking for replacement lamps consider DT100 series, which comes with an extended six month warranty. NEC sells a line of projector bulbs, lamps, TV lamps, refurbished projectors, overhead and slide, and other accessories for your convenience. At the websites online you will find some tips available to help you get the most of your projector lamps and learn ways to buy the best products.
Most people who own projectors do not realize that projector bulbs cost more than the average bulbs. The typical bulbs for projectors cost anywhere from $200 to $400. Despite that the bulbs are costly there is a purpose. The bulbs for projectors have unique designs and the bulbs are scarce since the manufacturers produce the lamps in smaller batches. The material is made of expensive and difficult products and you get the highest quality standards.
Companies who make the high standard lamps will often focus on one design during the production phase. They set out to create a bulb that is different from the rest and only fits a particular projector. They will mold the case for the bulbs and create holders for the lamps and curve it slightly different from other bulbs.
With the replacement bulbs it is a substitute which the manufacturers will replace missing elements that make the lamps or bulbs function. Thus they replace the components so that they work properly. Each bulb has a different wattage when it is created. The basic home theatre bulbs for example have either 150 or 300 watts. The production phase is carefully weighed out so that the bulbs are designed to fit a particular projector. Because there are set limits the prices of bulbs increase.
Phillips makes the UHP bulbs, which are made of the most difficult materials such as fused quartz and borosilicate glass. Borosilicate glass is made of chemicals such as salt of boric, silicic acids, and this is used to create chemical and heat resistant glassware or glass. Thus the high quality bulbs then are heat resistant which means that they are durable. Most bulbs will last at least 180 days according to NEC distributors. Silicic acids are a weak acid or gelatinous acid that is created by adding an acid to a sodium silicate, such as boric salt or boron, which is a white crystalline powder formula. Fused quartz is created from crystalline minerals which are hard, colorless and clear constituent with a color variety and it is used for gem making and electronics such as the projector bulbs. As you can see the bulbs are made of difficult materials, thus the pricing is reasonable. So when you shop for replacement or new projector bulbs be sure to consider the pricing and compare it to the quality of the bulbs.
